Lady Magnolia and Her Curious Cat

WonderLust Objects

Every story begins with a warm welcome.

With open arms and a porcelain teacup for a head, Lady Magnolia greets the world with quiet elegance. Nestled inside her cup, a tiny white cat peeks out from beneath blooming magnolias, turning an ordinary teacup into a place of curiosity and imagination.

Created from vintage porcelain and carefully selected found objects, Lady Magnolia and Her Curious Cat celebrates the beauty of unexpected encounters. Each fragment once belonged to another story. Together they form an entirely new character—playful, nostalgic and quietly theatrical.

Like every WonderLust Object, this assemblage leaves room for interpretation. Is the little cat hiding, exploring or simply keeping Lady Magnolia company? The answer belongs to the viewer.

Handcrafted by Dutch artist Margreet Blaas, every WonderLust Object is a unique, one-of-a-kind artwork. No editions. No replicas. Just one original piece where forgotten porcelain begins a new life.

A Note from the Artist

"Lady Magnolia appeared almost by herself. The teacup became a face, the magnolia blossoms softened her expression, and then a tiny white cat found its place among the flowers. From that moment, she felt complete.

I never set out to build a character. I simply collect forgotten porcelain fragments until they begin to recognise one another. When that happens, they quietly tell me who they want to become."
